Back in 1990 I owned a handheld computer called a 'Psion
Organiser'.

One evening while transferring data, I was struck with an idea
for a 'new' form of musical entertainment medium based upon the
'Datapak', a removable solid-state, data storage device.

I imagined a new type of music medium with no moving parts. The
'music' would be stored in exactly the same way document files
were on a Psion Datapak.

I made rough diagrams, defined a project and sent for the
'Copyright and Patents' packs. I even gave this invention a
name... the Slug. Well, have you seen a Datapak?

It would be removable, portable and could be re-written to as
many times as the user required.

You see, up until then all 'music' playback had been dependent on
rotating parts. Think about it...

the Vinyl Disc rotates under the needle,
the term Reel-to-Reel speaks for itself,
the Cassette Tape coils around a spindle after passing across
the head of the 'reader',
even old music-box mechanisms rotate under pins of differing
length.

Oh, and let's not forget the Compact Disc.

As far as I was concerned, the 'Slug' would revolutionise (no pun
intended), the way we would forever listen to and store our
favourite pieces of music.

Unfortunately, I had neither the funds, the technical 'know-how'
nor the technical assistance to pursue this any further.

And that, as they say, was that!

Well, time passed and technology made amazing leaps.

What, do you imagine, are the thoughts that pass through my mind
whenever I hear the term, MP3?

I'm sure I'm not the only person to have had an idea 'slip away',
only to witness that same 'idea' re-emerge and have exactly the
impact predicted.

I have no intention of ever letting ideas just slip away, which brings me back to the purpose of this message.

I'm not a technically-minded person but have come up with an original concept for a commercial application that uses the core principle of cryptograms, character substitution.

If you or someone you know is familiar with writing cryptogram solving sofware, this really is the offer of a lifetime.

It would be wholly unwise of me to reveal any further details in this message but I'd be more than happy to discuss this matter directly with the right person, as soon as possible. The successful outcome of this project will have an even greater impact than the introduction of MP3 technology.
